Weight Watchers Review

Weight Watchers has been around for nearly 60 years, so there’s a lot of history behind its methods. The founder realized that losing weight is about more than eating better. You also need a support system that you can lean on to help keep you accountable on your journey. That principle has carried Weight Watchers to its success over the years, making it one of the most popular weight loss programs to this day. There are more than 4.6 million members worldwide and physical locations in addition to the application, so you can access their services how you want.

About the Weight Watchers App Itself

Weight Watchers, or WW, is more than your mother’s weight loss program. They have expanded their services to be inclusive of everyone. They use highly personalized weight-loss plans called the PersonalPoints Program to help you achieve your goals in ways that work for your lifestyle. No two people are the same, so no two programs are alike. WW asks you a series of questions, and their nutrition and behavior change scientists use your responses to design a program for you, complete with your Points Budget and ZeroPoint Foods list. When you eat to plan, you can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

Weight Watchers Pricing BREAKDOWN

WW offers two different programs with different pricing tiers. You can go fully digital if you want a truly self-guided experience or you can select the unlimited workshops + digital for a mix of in-person accountability with all the benefits of the digital app.

For the fully digital plan, you can select a 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month plan. For the 1-month plan, you will be charged a standard monthly fee ($22.95) plus tax. There is no annual contract, and you can cancel whenever without penalty. For the 3-month plan, you will be charged a  standard monthly fee ($22.95) plus tax. If you cancel within the first two months, you will be charged a $42.95 early termination fee. For the 6-month plan, you will be charged a $10 fee for the first three months, and the standard $22.95 fee plus taxes. If you cancel within the first five months of your plan, you will be charged an early termination fee of $42.95.

Unlimited Workshops + Digital

For the unlimited workshops + digital plan, you can select 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month plans. For the 1-month, you will be charged the standard $44.95 rate plus taxes until you cancel. There is no fee to cancel. For the 3-month plan, you will be charged the standard $44.95 rate plus taxes. There is an early termination fee of $64.95 if you cancel within the first two months. For the 6-month plan, you pay $10 for the first three months then $44.95 for the duration. There is an early cancellation fee of $64.95 if you cancel within the first five months.

Our Weight Watchers Review

Weight Watchers Review

WW has been around for a long time, and with good reason. They continue to innovate, using leading science and nutritional theory to help you lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. The WW app brings all of the best features into the palm of your hand, so losing weight has never been this easy. They offer an individualized weight-loss plan to help you eat well while still indulging in the foods you love every now and then. The app will also encourage you to be more active to drive maximum results - losing weight has never been this fun and easy.

Like most diet apps, WW relies on food tracking. Instead of a color-coding system, WW uses their patented points-based system. They assess each meal and drink based on its nutritional value to assign it points. Search for your meals and track what you eat on a given day. You want to keep within your allotted points to lose weight, and there are some foods that have zero points, so you can eat them without restriction. You never have to feel hungry with the zero calories foods because you can always eat on WW. The app makes it easy to understand and track your progress.

In addition, WW offers a 24/7 Coach chat feature in case you need support at any time, as well as weekly progress reports, recipes, on-demand workouts, and so much more. WW has really stepped up its game to compete with other newer weight loss programs. The app is easy to use and gives you all the features you want and even some you didn’t even know you needed. If you’re ready to invest the time, energy, and money in your weight loss journey, it’s worth checking out how WW can support you. You’ll feel less restricted than other plans.

  • On-demand workout plans and recipes can help you find inspiration in the app that’s compatible with your weight loss plan.

  • Personalized weight loss and meal plans based on your needs - no two plans are the same!
  • Integrated support, recipe database, fitness plans, and more help centralize your weight loss in one single app.

Cons

  • Subscription plans are less flexible than other weight loss apps.
  • Unless you pay month-to-month, you may have to pay a cancellation fee to end your contract early.
  • You don’t understand the nutritional breakdown as well when you rely in the points.

Final Say

WW is a doctor-recommended and highly popular weight loss program. It’s consistently rated as one of the most trusted weight loss programs by industry experts, and with good reason! There is a lot of science and research to back up their personalized weight loss plans. The point system is easy to understand, and the zero points foods are critical to help you feel satiated as your body gets used to its new eating patterns. You aren’t alone when you’re on WW, which is helpful when you hit the bumps in your weight loss journey. There’s help available 24/7.

When you think of WW, you may think it’s a middle-aged women’s program, but they’ve done a lot of work to shed that reputation and branch out into newer demographics. The app is cutting edge, with all the features that you want from a weight loss app. From food tracking to meal planning to fitness plans and everything in between, there’s nothing the WW app can’t offer you. You can also upgrade your plan to in-person support if you need a mix of support to keep you accountable. WW is worth exploring if you want to try a trusted and effective plan.

How To Use Weight Watchers?

Using WW is easy. It works like many other similar weight loss programs. Create your account and choose your plan. Once you’ve signed up and paid for your subscription, you need to fill out a short questionnaire. This will help WW to generate your personalized plan. The best thing about WW is that no two plans are the same. They are unique to you, your body, and your goals. Once the plan is set, then you can get started losing weight in ways that work for you and your lifestyle.

You’ll have an allotted amount of calories - or points - you need to eat in a given day. You can eat fewer, but you don’t really want to exceed the points if you want to lose weight. The point is to eat a balanced, nutrional diet while maintaining a calorie deficit. Nothing is off limits on WW, as long as you eat in moderation and stay within your budget. If you choose the plans with workshops, you can also attend in-person sessions to help motivate you and provide support. You have the digital only plans, you can communicate with coaches 24/7 or chat in the digital community. WW wants you to know you’re not alone in your journey.

Once you’re done logging your food, you can browse the app for inspiration. The recipe suggestions will make choosing what to eat easy. All of the suggestions already fit in your plan, and meal prepping can make the weight loss journey even easier. There are also workout routines that can help jumpstart your weight loss. If you follow your plan, you can expect to lose about 1 to 2 pounds per week. You may loose more weight at first, but it will eventually plateau as your body gets used to the program.

Privacy Concerns

WW has a very clear privacy policy that you can read in full on their website or on the app. They will not sell, share, license, trade, or rent any information that is personally identifiable to you to other companies. You may be tracked using cookies, but ultimately your information is safe when you choose WW.
